Time to start planning Travel BlogCamp 2009

5 Comments Uncategorized

Around this time last year I had this crazy idea about organising an informal blog camp style event in London during World Travel Market. Last year’s event took place at the Doggett’s Riverside Bars with spectacular views of St Paul’s Cathedral.

Good turnout and feedback

Up to 80 bloggers, journalists, and travel industry people came to learn more about blogging and social media. We had four speakers; Alex Bainbridge, Molly Flatt Karen Bryan and Kevin May to talk about their experiences.

Here are some of the responses from the event:

» Heather from On Her Travels
» Caitlin from Roaming Tales
» Guido from Happy Hotelier
» Alex from Musings on travel ecommerce
» Anthony from Mr and Mrs Smith
» Ben from Trailbeater
» Kelly from Sandwagon
» Molly from STA Travelbuzz
» Kevin from Travolution
» Matt from Matt Parsons blog
» Karen from Europe a la Carte
» Jarad from Joobili

Planning Travel BlogCamp 2009

This year’s event will take place during the World Travel Market in London on Tuesday 10 November. The venue has yet to be decided so if you have any recommendations of sociable venues in London that can sit up to 110 people then please let me know.

This year’s event promises to be even better.

Keep up to date

My plan for this site is to create a resource for bloggers and travel companies to learn more about social media and blogging along with promoting future Travel BlogCamp’s. Latest updates will be published on Twitter and you can subscribe to RSS (email and feed)

Sponsorship details

If your travel company is interested in sponsoring this year’s event then please contact me and as soon as the sponsorship details are available I will send you information. This year, with the launch of this website, there will be a good mix of opportunities available.

Get involved

I welcome your thoughts on what you would like to see being discussed at this year’s Travel BlogCamp.
